How the heck fast am I going?

I just thought of something...

Your profile says you have 2 kids. Do they by chance have any of the Fisher Price (Mattel) Power Wheels? The low gear in those is very accurately set to 2.5 mph. Set them up as the pace car (off to the side) then get out of the way. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BCZoom: brilliant idea!!! However, I have my one and three year olds busy picking rocks! If you saw my little guy, I think he's shatter the speed barrier for big wheels.

In 50 years you should have a feel for how fast you are going from looking at it for 49. Right down to the 1/10 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You'd have to... 'cause after 50ys.. that little plastic readout probably won't work.. and there won't be replacement parts for it..

Heck.. I don't like the alternator dependent tachometers either...

That's right, start'em early.
What good are dwarves if they don't do chores!

I look at the gear/tire size/speed chart on the fender and... well... guess at it. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This old farmer used this method, before the days of speedometers and tachometers. Measure the circumference of the rear tire. Mark a line on the tire with either tape or paint. Then count the rotations as you drive for one minute ( in the gear and speed you think you would use for the implement) to figure the miles per hour. And then you can also measure the length and then the width of your field to calculate the number of acres. Yugo

Spreading into the wind, 2nd gear... With the wind, 4th gear.
This will keep you from being # one in the # 2 business /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
