as for the drained oil, not knowing anything was wrong, all I can tell you is I noticed nothing off in its appearance, having drained it a gallon or so at a time and dumping it in a bucket.

If you're referring to the oil drained out of the tractor, I doubt it would show signs of anything. In order for oil to exit the hydrostat and mix with the rest of the oil in the tractor it would need the charge pump working and oil flowing INTO the hydrostat long enough for that to happen. I doubt it had much chance for that. At this point I tend to agree the unit itself my well have escaped much serious damage. The parts list shows replaceable wear plates on both rotating groups, so any damage should show there first.

Many thanks to Long Lane for a replacement charge pump and hydromotor (couldn't sell separately. )

10 hours later, she's back together and got outside for the first time since I broke the bellhousing in September.

I think The Pook is happier than I am!
