How to clean Schaeffer 02382-029S Ultra Supreme Grease off of clothes, etc?

Haven't used that particular Schaeffer, but I usually have good results with Simple Green for the messes I get into.

Talked to an elderly lady in an Auto Parts store, who was buying a case of Brake Clean - said it was the best Spot Remover she'd ever tried.

Not sure I'd want to try convincing my better-half of that ^ option in the Wash though.......

Have you tried dawn dish soap? I wonder how Basic H would work? It will disolve oil completely and you can rub your hand over the area and its clean only problem
it costs an arm and leg to purchase it

I don’t know if this will help but have you tried putting dish soap on your hands before doing any work?

and when you finish being in the grease/oil and just use water there be no sign of oil
or grease on your hands

WD-40. Then rewash with naphtha

And then before they dry put in burn barrel and light them up.

I should have elaborated more… I used the same idea and it worked very well when building industrial water tanks and silos when sealing the seams with some sort of sealant. I wasn’t certain if it would work as well with oil or grease but I think it would help by creating a barrier preventing whatever from getting into your pores.

Ugh, That Shaeffer is an aluminum grease with moly too. In my book that is overkill.
I only use moly on the swing pivots of the backhoe and there I use a different moly with lithium as thickener. That way soap at least has a chance to break the grease down. Even so, the moly lives in its own grease gun & any extra gets wiped off by hand. Moly stains everything forever. Nasty stuff.

I sort of remember that theoretically, aluminum base greases should respond to organic acids. Try some of the vinegars ....or maybe citrus solvents. But even if they work on the Aluminum thickener, the moly stays behind....

Except for the swing components and the bottom-most boom pivot, everywhere else on our tractors gets a shear-stabilized polyurea "green grease" that is easy to wipe off, just as water resistant, and breaks down with common soaps.

I started using it after replacing bushings on the BH pivot. Were "in spec", barely, but, I was in there anyway and it seemed like a good idea. At the time.

The "waterproof" feature was attractive. Then. But had I known how nasty it was to clean off clothing, I might just have used some others.

Tried some food grade "orange oil" d-limonene or some such, bought as a de-greaser a while back. That seemed to get it out, with a bit of gentle elbow grease.

After that, tossed it in the washer following the instructions on the garment, the dried per the instructions.

Still fits and still heats up. Even smells better.

If Dawn dish washing liquid won't get it out, it's probably stained forever!

Just looked for Basic H. At $206 for a 5 gallon pail, "pricey" is certainly accurate.
