I cut down a big tree in the yard last winter and split it for firewood. Then I drilled a dozen 1" holes in the top, and filled the holes with potassium nitrate. I'll cover it this fall when the rains start. After things get wet enough to be safe, I'll take a shot at burning it. The nitrate should make it burn good.

As long as there is a lot open space, I don,t see a problem with waiting for nature to run its course. I, along with many others on here really enjoy classic cars, and have a couple of nice ones myself. Sure would love to see a picture or two of your friends car. A picture of the engine bay would be a huge bonus. At the very least, can you tell us what year, make and model it is ? That judged score is incredible. It must be absolutely beautiful !
