How Do I Get Rid Of Bumblebees?

Find the nest and get yourself a Pyrethin (sp?) bomb, it's an aerisol spray and that kills all bad, stingy things real good. Best used at night and when weather is cool as all the critters will be in the nest.

Just in case anybody thinks I'm cruel or something that yuppies might say,,,,I keep honey bees,have for over 15 years,,got just two hives now but have had as many as 15,,there are mean bees and there are good bees,,just like good snakes,[blacksnakes] and bad snakes,[copperheads],,,thingy

Thanks for the replies. Steverino, I went to the web site that you listed and what we have are definitely bumblebees. I am going to try some of the sprays and powders that are mentioned. I am all for letting bees do their thing but when they threaten my dogs and make life miserable for me than I don't have any recourse except to try and eliminate them.

I have found that a drive-by bombing with Sevin dust seems to take a lot of the fight out of them. Not that I wanted to do that but they left me no choice. Away from their nest, they are not aggressive but get close to that nest and they are.

Try gasoline,you got some in a jug right now I bet,,if you think the nest is in this pile o rocks,,pour gas onto that pile o rocks,,[I don't know how big your pile o rocks is],,but 5 gal goes a long way in destorying bees,,,course if its close to your puppies or there is a fire hazard,,but it kills the queen who is the boss,in the nest,,wait till dark,,they all be at home than,,kills babys,workers,queens and drones,[think thats all the bee catagories??],,plus gas,,don't float away and give other things a deadly wiff,,and,because of gravity,it goes down,,where the nest is,,,just some thoughts from a hillbilly,,thingy

I used a 20 gauge shotgun one year... bird load...8 shot... bumblebee was history in the blink of an eye.

...I would think twice before I nuke something that might bee needed to polinate the crops or fruit trees that I eat. ...

I just have to say that when commuting home this afternoon thru the great San Joaquin valley, with it's thousands of honeybee boxes, and one of the little buggers flew in my window, at some point, and stung me between the fingers when i grabbed a gear, I did NOT think about his ecological duties ... I just smashed the smithereens out of him on my office pants

I just have to say that when commuting home this afternoon thru the great San Joaquin valley, with it's thousands of honeybee boxes, and one of the little buggers flew in my window, at some point, and stung me between the fingers when i grabbed a gear, I did NOT think about his ecological duties ... I just smashed the smithereens out of him on my office pants

Well there is co-existence and there is self defence and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

Must be beautiful to live near the San Joaquin Valley. If we eve move back to the states I would start and olive farm there.
