how to increase traction

/ how to increase traction #11
Doubling your tires will give you more flotation, and will make it more difficult to get around between trees in the woods.
If you are sinking in too much then doubling will help. If not, then more weight on your single tires will give the most traction.
Are you lifting logs now and spinning out?

I spin more with R-4 tires than I used to with Ag tires, but I like the R-4's for toughness in the woods where there are lots of stubs to poke at tires.

( Hi -reason I got a compact was to pull logs from my woods. Since I cut selectively I need a smaller tractor to get around. But I would like to improve my traction , so if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.
thanks )

Have you filled your tires? Providing you don't have marsh land or deep mud, filled tires will help almost any thing you do except mowing lawns.

If you don't have filled tires, check with a local tractor dealer, doesn't have to be a Mistubishi dealer, to see what the locals use. In your area you have to be concerned about freezing.

Hi fsteyer,

Don't know how much cutting you plan on, but a logging winch will allow you to stay where your traction stays good, & keep you from going in & damaging tractor or forest...

The only way to increse traction on your 2wd tractor is filling your rear tires ir rear wheel weights.
