how to mount a tactical shotgun

I just don't get it...lol. Now....I'd completely take a tactical shotgun to some yellow jackets...I hate those darn things. :punch:

I know an MD who tangled with some yellow jackets and ended up in the hospital. He researched them afterwards and discovered that when you swat at them, they release pheromones that provoke an aggressive, swarming attack by the rest of the nest.

If you shoot at them, I'd suggest a flamethrower.

noun: pheromone
a chemical substance produced and released into the environment by an animal, especially a mammal or an insect, affecting the behavior or physiology of others of its species.

Our next door neighbor in AK was a Dr that had such violent reactions to any type of bee, wasp, yellow-jacket sting. He had a small syringe of something always around his neck - he could self inject if he got stung. The couple time he and his wife came up to our cabin - the mosquitos were so bad - we all thought he was going to have a bad go of it. He slathered up with mosquito dope and survived.

Years ago I was out doing some target shooting with my black powder rifle. I came up on a big timber rattler and he decided he was not scared of me. He lost his head with a 50 caliber round ball. Took his head clean off.

Even though I've yet to see or dispatch a poisonous snake here on the property, in Amber. I've dispatched my share during the years growing up in the Okanogan valley of Ea WA state.

If you need to "carry" to dispatch snakes - I've found that a good heavy duty, long handle shovel is your best bet. And it has SOOOOO many other uses also.

As a young "fodd" growing up in apple country - I'd help the neighbor orchardist maintain his irrigation ditches in his orchard.

Yes, back in the day - about the time God created dirt - orchards were irrigated with water flowing down plowed ditches.

I would carry a long handle "standard" shovel to open, channel, clean and maintain these ditches. I dispatched MANY rattlesnakes during those summers while on my orchard duties.

I got good enough to completely dehead with one swing.

The only time I've EVER saw a snake - I was over a quarter mile from the vehicle where the gun was. Killed the snake with a large "tactical stick". Much handier and a whole lot cheaper to operate. It was in full auto mode too - just keep swinging.
I think the stick was in semi-auto... otherwise it would be banned! :D

Instead of a regular shotgun with 18 inch barrel, look at a mossberg shockwave. 14 inch barrel from the factory. I got one in 20gauge and it is easy to shoot one handed from seat of the tractor. It is not actually shotgun by legal definition but classified as "firearm other", so it is not restricted to a 18inch barrel

The shotgun that is not a shotgun.

All kinds of twists and turns in federal firearms definitions. :)

dragoneggs - you are probably correct. If it were fully auto - I wouldn't have had to swing - just squeeze.

And Doofy - God bless you. There are more and more times when getting up in the morning - I sure feel as old as Adam.

But I'm still as sweet as Eve - ha,ha,ha.
