how to mount a tactical shotgun

Well - when you consider that the heaviest "artillery" I've ever felt necessary to take with me - out on my 80 - to be a long handled shovel.

YES - that's pretty well "strapped".

I still have not heard an answer to the question - why does FTG-05 feel he needs that level of firepower with him.

It's like people do different things because they can.

I won't speak for him but for myself, coyotes, wild hog, and anything that would attack my livestock are the reason my AR, .30-30, and shotgun are always ready to go. When living in Washington state, I did a lot of hiking and camping. I carried the .44m on those trips in the rare chance I ran into a big cat, surprised bear, or meth camp with the latter being most likely.

Well - I'm no big macho he-man and I've lived ALL my life in either the "wilds" of Alaska or here in Ea WA state. I'm sorry but even when camping at remote sites in Alaska I found, as most that have any sense do, the most important "weapon" you can have - is what is mounted on the top of your neck and common sense to go along with it.

The news papers are filled with horrible stories of folks who where "well strapped" as they ventured into the wilds - they thought this would save them. Usually the wild animal killed them and for what its worth - didn't eat the gun they were carrying.

A truly surprise wild animal attack seldom leaves time to use whatever weapon is being carried. This is proven - year after year after year - for the unfortunate, well strapped, adventurers in Alaska.

Cool story bro. Are you aware that you can use your head while also having firearms around the house or on your person? It's not a one or the other kind of thing. The law says that I can defend my livestock in an animal attack (numerous occasions, mostly coyotes) and my home in a home invasion (S. Carolina, 2004). I can't common sense myself out of those; coyotes and criminals can't be reasoned with.

The part that confuses me is why you care so much what someone else is doing when it doesn't affect you in the slightest. If you don't feel the need to own a certain product, don't. It doesn't mean a whole hill of beans to me!

A whole lot is totally lost in the written word over verbal expression. I shall no longer attempt to seek an answer.

I don't have much of a need for a big fire power if I could get one of the guns I worked on in the Navy but a 16" from the USS New Jersey BB62 is slightly over kill so I'll keep my simple 22 LR semi auto in sight and try not forget about it in the rush of the moment and grab one of those fully auto tree branch.

FTG-05 - - what in THE H E L L is out there in Tennessee that you have to go out on your tractor with such heavy armament? The pictures beg the question - - are you heading out to do tractor work or are you going out to start a war?? You can not tell me that you expect to meet something out on your property that will require that level of fire power.

Liberal antigun statement(s) disguised as a question(s).

None of which deserve an answer.

That is exactly what I though and the answer I expected. Have a good day.

That's funny, I didn't hear any anti-gun statements. People were just wondering what you need protection from to need that much firepower. If the situation warranted it, you could bet that I'd be "Packin" too.

Looked anti to me.

I don't carry on the tractor but wish I had a few times.
Woodchucks close with the .22 & at the far end of the pasture with the .223.
Fox & coyote too.
