how to mount a tactical shotgun

try shooting to the right side of the tractor sitting with something that requires your left hand to be in front of your right hand, such as a long gun. It will limit the area you can aim at. Something you can shoot one handed would work a lot better

Every problem has a solution. :)

Ah - Dragoneggs - there are always going to be those who misinterpret a comment. I'm just glad to see that 'ol FTG-05 comes down on the side of the pro-gun crowd.

It might be a situation that could be argued but - when I gave my list of firearms to my insurance man - - his first comment - "are you planning a war in some third world country".

And on a completely different topic - yesterday morning - woke to stinky smoke and haze. Our wildfire season has started over here on the "dry"side. I never say "right" side - because occasionally I've been known to be wrong.

Have a good weekend.

People see what they want to see don't they?!

Some people see danger everywhere with a firearm as the only reasonable way to protect yourself. Anyone who has a nuanced opinion is "anti-gun" and the enemy..

All I can think is that it must be a scary world to be in for some people. :confused3:

I never thought of it that way - Luke. Perhaps that's what creates a lot of folks attitude. Its a really sad thought.

If you two deep thinkers would take a break from stroking each other's egos, you'd also realize you could think of it in another way. A firearm on the farm is a tool like any other and has its purposes. Your needs may not be the same as mine; that doesn't invalidate my needs. If I see raccoons or coyotes hanging out too close to my chickens, I'm not going to wait until the next morning to see how many chickens they will kill overnight before doing anything about it; I'm going to handle it right there. That has nothing to do with fear and everything to do with protecting my investment.

The OP asked for help. If you don't have anything helpful for him/her, stop derailing their thread and start your own.

Thanks for setting me straight. I can't tell you how grateful I am.

Welcome to TBN! I see you just joined today and have already posted over 100 times?!

No, I joined a year ago. I don't post unless I have something relevant; that probably explains why your post count is so much higher.

You're welcome btw. It's good to see some people are open minded enough to understand that many issues are complex so affect people differently. There may not be a single, simple black/white, right/wrong answer.

In an attempt to get this back on track, it appears that what most people do is repurpose the vertical wall mount to bolt to either the ROPS or if cabbed, the cab frame. Looks like the right answer to me if that's what you want to do. If you spend more, you can get a locking version as well, though it doesn't seem necessary in this case since you'd take the shotgun out of the tractor when it's not being utilized.

yes I am scared of that rattle snake. scared he will kill another dog and scared he will leave a scar on a horses nose that goes through the bone.

and it would be cool if an expert with a hoe would make a video of bush hogging the pasture when you spot that snake and how to hit the brake and release the pto and jump off to hit him with the hoe after he gets in the tall grass. do you wait for the blade to stop freewheeling or just jump off? especially want to watch you chase him through the grass swinging the hoe. snake 1 ---hoe ??broken handle [ this is now a stick for the next episode]
good for youtoob laff

I am scared of tearing up machinery
when mowing hay you spot the woodchuck that has been digging holes in the pasture for the stock to step in. show me how to shut off the tractor and grab the big stick and whoa-----the mower just hit a dirt mound and it is torn up. so you grab the stick and chase that ground hog and beat him.
cartoons in morning of this.

now am I scared of the coyote? no he just eats the rabbits and birds cats and you can make another good movie of you getting him after you jump off the tractor with the long shovel and kill him. a demonstration please.
film at 11.

next are the hogs that I am scared will root up another couple acres tonight. show me your chase with the sharp stick where you get them on the meat pole. I will take a lesson from an expert here.
maybe sell this one to tv hunting show or survivor.

would you be scared of the possum? the possum that gave your horse an incurable disease that ruined him for life- a short life.
get your hammer and you can probably chase the possum down. possum 0----hammer 1 [priceless]

we will skip the feral cat that has been getting the chickens. cat 4 ---chickens 0
but I am certain you will have a pocket full of meow mix and it will come to you and eat out of your hand. after which I wont need to be scared it will get anymore chickens. eggs for breakfast now.

I don't understand the arguing. Some like guns, some dont. Big deal. The question was "How to mount a tactical shotgun"not "Why". Not your tractor, not your shotgun.
