Unfortunately the front yard slopes too much for a circular drive and I don't own to the right of the drive.

Just off the edge of the apron behind the dark colored vehicle, downward in the pics, gravel to the trees. Enough area for the delivery truck to back into and turn around?

I have a mile long gravel driveway. About 25 years ago FedX and their big brown truck got stuck in the snow on my driveway. I went down and pulled the vehicle back onto the driveway. Ever since that time - NONE of the delivery services come down the driveway - any time of the year. The package is in a plastic garbage bag - hanging on the outer gate.

I get large deliveries( larger than will fit in the mailbox) about once every four months. So.... it's not an inconvenience to anybody.

Was that a tricky insinuation with the "FedX and their big brown truck" or just a slip up in verbage? ;)

I used a plate compactor on our gravel driveway when it was wet a few times, and that seemed to pack it in a lot better. Took several hrs to run it over the entire parking area (about 75x100'), but over time it seemed to have helped a lot. Last week I have some 50K dumps in and they only sunk about 2" at the most where they turned around - UPS/FedEx is nowhere close to that heavy, so they don't sink into the base at all.

Geez - ovrszd. You are right. I screwed up. It WAS a big brown truck. It was UPS not FedEx. You can see how often I get package delivery. I can't even keep the names straight.

That is all clean gravel, it is wide enough to drive a dump truck down the right side of the garage to the back yard.

Other than ordering less stuff, how can we minimize the 3 point turn ruts in our crusher run driveway from deliveries. The drive is 700' so backing out is not a reasonable ask. When they crank their tires from one side to the other in one spot it makes a little depression, when it rains, the depression stays a little damper than the surrounding area and it gets 5x worse the next time they crank, and they all do it in a different spot. We try to stay on top of it, rake, tamp, smooth with a bucket, but it is nearly a daily task with all of the rain we have had. Eventually we may concrete this area, but that is not in the cards in the immediate future. Thought about the geocell stuff but not sure how many full turns of a loaded delivery truck before it starts breaking down. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Same problem here. I solved it by getting a load of stone dust. I used a rear blade to spread it thinly over the crusher run which choked it up so it packs down firmly. A little regrading is still necessary sometimes but nowhere near as often.

My yard is plenty big enough to do a u turn with a semi tractor pulling a 53 foot trailer but sometimes when I’m not home FedEx delivery trucks decide it’s ok to drive on my lawn, UPS has never done that.
