Just bought a new 14K , 14' Diamond C dump trailer to haul my Bobcat & Mini and small loads of materials.

My 873 has metal tracks over the wheels that I really like, not gonna remove them to move the machine.

I moved it once and It's just not gonna float that way, to slippery and potential damage to the trailer bed.

Wondering if anyone else has tackled this issue and what they did to solve it.

I could bolt down some 2x12's, but I'm betting someone has figured out better.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks.

Consider conveyor belting either in strips or the entire bed

Take it to a bedliner place and have them spray it. Any color and will probably last forever.

Rhino liner is very tough. We have been pushing 2400lb pallets into the bed or 12 years now and the liner is still solid and uncut.

Go dump a load of 6" gravel and a then a couple of stumps in it. Then it will already be scratched up and you won't worry about the tracks anymore. This is a dump trailer, not a show trailer.

They sell material called puck board (used on the boards in a hockey rink) in our area a lot of people line the dump trucks and farm equipment to protect it and ease the unloading of sticky and abrasive materials

My first thought was “it’s a trailer…”, but reading again I think his concern is that it slides on the trailer floor. The conveyor belt idea sounds like a winner to me. I don’t think spray bedliner is going to stand up well to metal tracks, at least not for long. Heavy conveyer belt will last a lifetime.

Horse Stall mats can be purchased at most farm stores. They could be thrown down when you haul your skid steer to prevent metal to metal damage. I would imagine 3 would fit nicely in your trailer. Just cut holes for the d-rings.

Line-X is the tougher than Rhino spray in liner in my experience and less likely to tear or get peeled up by equipment.

FWIW, I put old snowmobile tracks on my ramps for my SS with OTT's. Depending where you position your machine for transport on the trlr., you could bolt the front of the tracks down into the bed, and roll them up and stow them against the trlr. headboard somehow for dump work.
