How to push a BX23 to the limit

/ How to push a BX23 to the limit #11
Boy I'd love to have one of those, but I can imagine the price.
Two questions:
1) isn't it a pain driving backwards all the time?
2) Do I see a license plate on your tractor?

You obviously didn't pay the nay-sayers any mind running such an oversized implement on your BX23 /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Looks GTG to me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

How are you getting hydro to the remote valve? Via the BH quick connects?

Outstanding! That big snowblower looks right at home on the BX.

About driving backward with a snow blower.
1- Once you have a remote valve installed a snow blower mounted on a 3PH is not too expensive. You can choose which brand and width you want. Afterward, if you want to sell it, it's easier because anybody can connect it to a 3PH.
2- You are nearer the snow blower. So you have a better point of view. On a small tractor like a BX23, a front snow blower is ok too but with a bigger one it's harder to see over the hood the front of the snow blower.
3- At first, I didn't like it, but you get used to it very quickly.
4- With a snow blower connected to a 3PH you can lift it higher than a front one. Very useful when the snow plow gives you a 3 feet high hedging because you can still blow with the blower lifted at maximum (about 30 inches). I'll post a pic of the height.
5- With the snow blower mounted on the back of the tractor you keep the loader on it... very useful too.
6- With the loader (around 450 lbs) and the snow blower (about 405 lbs), the tractor is heavier... better in winter.

Yes I have a license plate on it.

Exactly, BX23 has an outlet behind for the back hoe.

The thing is... you have the outlet... but you need a remote valve to operate it. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif So you have to put your hand in your pocket again. But if you decide to sell the tractor, you can keep the valve. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I put the same pics in the photos gallery. They're in better quality and bigger size. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Enjoy

Welcome to TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Nice setup.
Do you have better pictures of the chute rotate mechanism? An explanation of how it works would help. Sure looks like a heavy duty one.
Thanks

Thanks for the detailed reply. I appreciate it.

I'm still curious about the license plate, as those of us in the states
below you are not required to have one for a tractor; all we need is the big red slow moving vehicle triangle to drive it one the road (at least in Ohio). Are you required to have the plate even if you don't take it off your property?

Nice looking setup stef! If you get the time and inclination, could you ramble on a bit about your remotes. Did you set it up from scratch, or has the Bota kit been revised to use the BH QD's?
Cheers!

On this pic, the height of the blower fully lifted. As shown on this pic, the bottom of it is 16" high and it has a cutting height of 24 1/2". So you can easily blow a hedging of 40". If you need more... use the FEL. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

About the license plate. If I use the tractor only on my property I don't need a license plate. But if I want to drive it on the road, then I need one. Here in Quebec we are liable for material damages only. You buy insurance from a private company to protect you against material damages. The private insurance company takes care of that bumped fender. If you have an accident, if you have injuries and you need medical treatments or surgery, the government will pay for that. Here in Quebec, license plate fees are splited in two: the first part is your registration fee (the right to be on the road), the second part is your insurance contribution (insurance covering physical injuries).
So to have the right to be on the road with my tractor I need a license plate. But if I stay on my property I can do as I wish without any license plate.
Exemptions apply to vehicles stored at businesses, farm machinery or recreational vehicles that come under the regulation. But I don't know much more because I'm not a farmer.

In facts it's simple, but I'm simply not the one to explain it in details. sorry

Enjoy the pic /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
