It's no coincidence that gasoline floats on water. I'd push over a few other trees, a couple gallons of gasoline, and have a weenie roast!

Now that is an original idea. :) +1

lf a termite can eat a house, you can get that tree out of your pond. Your pictures are proof that all it takes is persistence. Good job!

Thanks but are you calling me a termite!? :D It's a David vs. Goliath project that's for sure! Well actually in my case, it's David's grandpa vs. Goliath.

Finally got the tree removed from the pond today. Lesson learned, could have cut the tree down in an hour and out of the pond but instead took 2 weeks to solve the problem.

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions/tips.

Hi Rekees4300! I'm intrigued by your username. As you can see from my avatar, I'm partial to keeshonds. Is that where the 'kees' in your name comes from? BTW, I'm glad you "bested" that tree and I also vote that you seem to have a very nice corner of the world to call home!

Username not related to dogs. Been using "rekees" online for 20 years (seeker spelled backwards) and 4300 is my tractor's model number. Glad the battle with that rogue tree is finally over. Thanks for the kind words. :)
