How to use FEL to carry 500lbs up driveway?

I ran the tractor at highest RPM, I actually assumed that is what it needs to achieve the rear PTO speed of 540??

I run my BX2200 WOT when chipping. As you found, it can bog down a bit when larger wood is fed. The little tractors need to use all of the HP available.

Well, I talked to the dealer where I got the chipper from and he thinks he can swap the PTO shaft with a longer one. My question is: will having a longer shaft affect the tractor or power delivered to the chipper?

no, a longer shaft will not affect power. you are talking about a few inches, not feet. As for rated rpm, it is nearly WOT but not. Mine has gauge to see if I am at 3200 which is rated RPM and I see I can go up to a little over 3400 rpms. I am pretty sure it a good idea to be WOT since when feeding will slow engine down some esp with larger peices.

Be very careful when you install the longer PTO shaft that you do not put the end through the rear PTO. Measure very carefully and cut equal amounts off each end if you have to cut the PTO shaft. An inch too long can result in many $$$ of repair to the rear PTO. All of my toys with a PTO I have had to cut the PTO shaft.

Actually, I did not need to cut the shaft. It fit as is and was actually short in the beginning when I used the Quick Hitch.
