I have cleared acres of blackberry brush with a Piranha toothbar........well made product.......they will custom make one for your bucket. I never take mine off. Definitely a backhoe for the stumps.

I cut 8' tall brush with a 15hp grey market Shibara and a 4' Kingkutter rotary cutter. I cut anything over 1 1/2" with a chainsaw and let the brushmower do the rest.

I have lots of dense shrub between trees that I would like to clear to bare earth. It doesn't look like much now, but in the summer it's so dense you can't see through it.

Can a bush hog handle 1"-2" scrub brush? I've been using the bucket to dig/pry out what I can. It's working but seems like I'm making slow progress.

I've already bought a toothbar to help with the tear out, are there any other attachments I should buy?

If you get a Heavy duty bush hog yes, you can take out up to 2" scrub brush... they are not all made the same though.

Yeah, it's looking like I am going to have to pay to play. The KK I've found locally is an xb line. I've heard that that's the cheap light weight model. Guess I'll have to keep searching.

I've cleared a a lot of brush 2-3" diameter with my medium duty Bush Hog BH27 Which has a 3" rated cut. the side skirts are 1/4" plate. I've mowed over 4-5" stuff accidentally it usually just skims pieces off. No dents or irregularities in the deck.

Most of the used KK I've seen used look like they were used to clear mine fields. Maybee they do make some heavy duty models but the ones I've seen look like they should be relegated for field grass only.

There are some medium/ heavy duty 4 and 5 ft cutters. I'd look at land pride, woods, bush hog, JD I'm sure there are others

Some other pointers:
Make sure you have a good skid plate setup to protect hydraulics and filters.

Also the last thing you want to do is push over a tree and then have to back up without shredding the tree. Even with a skid plate, the limbs find themselves in bad spots.

On the seventh day, I rested after successfully making play room for the little ones.

Thanks all for your input. The BXPANDED piranha is amazing.
