How's everyone doing with the SNOW

I still have an adequate supply.:D

And we are starting to kick on the AC in a car at times now.. Not in the house yet. We had a fair amount of snow this year, but nothing like last year. Of course it has snowed in May here.

My Sunapee just extended their season to the 19th.

It is rare to have any snow on the ground in Boston after mid-March. While we have bare ground now in a few places, still have a couple feet elsewhere.

Most of our snow has melted off over the last two days, but they are forecasting a fresh couple of inches for tomorrow morning.
Our average snowfall for April is about 8" but the way this year has gone we can probably expect another foot or so.

Woke up to some of that white stuff ,,again,, nothing much but just enough to bring back that "cringe" in the back of my neck.

My ,oh my. Three days of warmish weather and sunshine, some slow melting, but its back to cold overcast here today with a slight dusting of snow due today. Too soon for cheering yet tho. I am afraid. Very gunshy of tempting mother nature by getting too optimistic about spring. Who knows, the orbit of this planet may have changed! Something sure did, this past winter.

The weather gurus are saying that it all because the polar Jetstream moved way south..but nobody has any theory as to0 why it did. I think it was the giggling pin slipped out of the dukasocket and caused a misconflageratiohn. Maybe summa u guys got a better understanding?

First guy that says Global Warming is suspended from bar privileges!

On this past Wednesday (March 31), I made a valiant attempt to start processing my firewood. After bulldozing a road through the snow for 2-1/2 hours, I finally found the woodpile. I bucked up a little bit, but most of the pile is frozen solid. I uncovered what I could so the sun can work on it. Hopefully it can be processed within a couple of weeks, before the flies come out. The local TV meteoroligist says that the snow here should be melted away by May 19, if we get any decent spring weather (which we haven't yet). Am I sick of winter yet? Not quite, but I'm getting there fast.

Hey jix, at least I tried. I think I'll wait awhile before I try again.

I would be lost without that old Case crawler. It's a leftover from a business I once had. There is a huge swamp near the front of my woodlot, so there has to be a hard freeze before I can get back there. Believe it or not, the crawler will cross the frozen swamp even when the RTV starts to break through. In the off years when there is no hard freeze, I cut on my sister's lot (which is our old home place), that is across the main highway from my lot. I store the equipment at my sister's place, where somebody can keep an eye on it. I live in Moncton, which is 50 miles away. My B7800 lives in town in the winter to do snow removal, and at the home place in the summer where it maintains the fields (big time alder country).

Tracyville - nice area. I haven't been there in years. In 1971 I worked as instrument man on the design survey for the re-alignment and upgrading of Route 101 from Beaver Dam to Tracy.

I spotted this old time green tractor over the weekend. I'll bet that the rear tires on this tractor would have been good in the snow.
