" Double dared mother nature not to do it again by taking the plow right back off and putting the regular bucket back on. "

Oh sure dare her,she was just starting to calm down. ;)
I never take chances like that. My snow blower goes on the tractor before Halloween and stays there until after Easter!

That makes sense on a rear mounted blower. I play it by ear. Put the plow on when I first need it and leave it on unless I have need for the bucket. It only takes a couple of minutes to switch between them. Then when I need the bucket I'll swap them and leave it on until there is plowable snow in the forecast so I don't have to hook it up in the dark. I didn't keep exact track but I'd say six swaps per winter is running about average.

I usually take the plow off of my 4 wheeler when I can finally see more yard than snow; and then I remember the 12"+ we got on 4/29 a few years ago. Ya can't win.

We're closing in on "top 5" in our area/4.5m or 14.75 feet of snow if we didn't hit it yesterday. Last time we had this much snow was in 1991/92. FWIW, record in our area is 5.3 meters/close to 17.4 feet back in the 70s.

I wish we could have got some of that. I used my blower twice. The X748 with the blade maybe 5 times. We need moisture. I'm afraid we may be in for another drought.

Saint John, New Brunswick

The city already "won" this year but additional snow will enhance the lead. Below are the snowfall totals as of March 17. Any additional snow recorded on Wednesday will just secure the spot for this historic year.
YEARS SNOWFALL TOTALS
2014-2015 446 cm
1962-1963 424 cm
1955-1956 392 cm
1954-1955 384 cm
1970-1971 375 cm
Add the 35 cm we got Wed.
481 cm =181 inches=15.0883 feet.

The snow is just about gone here, only 2' left. I took the snow blower off yesterday and put the loader back on. With the ground partially thawed I will back blade the rest of the snow if any for the rest of this season.
