I presume you mean a rotary cutter, right? Howse makes light, medium and heavy duty models in different sizes. My recommendation is to go to the Howse website and check out the model numbers to see which one he has for sale. Then do a search for that model to see what competitive pricing is on it. That should tell you if it's worth it or not. Remember to keep in mind if you save on sales tax and/or shipping costs too.

If it's the standard 5' shredder then, yes, $600 is a good price.
I have one (left a review in the "Reviews" section) that I bought new and unused in 2005 for $500. The way metal prices have been the last few years that's not bad at all. Compare against Northern Tool's website price for the same unit and you'll start coming around pretty quick.
Not a bad little machine if you know what you're doing with it and aren't trying to clear feral pasture with it.

I live about 80 miles from the Howse home office which is in Laurel, MS. I was excited to find a company that close and tried out a Howse dirt scoop which lasted one weekend before it bent to a point it was not usable. Later I wound up with a sub soiler which I still have and it is bent badly from my massively powerful Kubota L2800. Talked with the factory about both and basically was told, you just can't get good steel from China any more. Beware.
