Howse Finish mower

Have a chance to buy an almost new Howse 6 foot finish mower for $1100.00. Is this a good deal ?

The guy bought it because he liked the 4 foot Howse bush hog that came with his tractor. Problem was he didn't know that his small tractor wasn't up to the task of a 6 foot finish mower. Had it hooked up once, discovered the problem nd now it's for sale.

What's the price from a dealer?
If you're knocking off $200-$300, I'd say it's a good deal.

I checked the Howse Implements website and had to go to the order page to find a price on the 6' finish mower...$1903.00.
FWIW I bought a Howse tiller from my MF dealer about $300 below Howse website price last year. I don't know anything about the Howse cutters, but have been satisfied with the tiller. RT-70 I think is the tiller model.

Thanks guys, after posting this did a little web searching and $1,5xx.00 was the lowest price I could find. Wasn't sure what quality class Howse is in and am hoping it will be a good purchase.

I ran a Howse 5' bushhog for 15 yrs without any problems. All I had to do with it was grease the zerks every other useage and sharpen the blades once a yr. I mowed 3 acres every two weeks with it.

It's the only brand BH I've owned so I can't compare it but as far as quality I'd give it a "better" out of a good, better, best.

I can't speak for the price of the finish mower, but I own a 4 foot Howse brush hog and I have had no problems what so ever. Howse is a lower end brand, but I have been impressed with mine, thus far.

I'd put KK and howse at about the same level of quality... light/medium duty. I've had a KK rotary mower for a few years now.. cut lots of stuff with it.. no problems yet.
