I have a new 2910 that jerks when it first starts moving.
The jerk almost feels like a shift, very predictable time
and speed of the tractor when it happens.
I notice it the most in high range, but it does it in medium
range also. I drove a new 7500 and it did the same. My 3010
is very smooth in all ranges. Design flaw "difference" in the
B series? Has anyone else noticed this in their "B" series?

I recall when doing some back/forth loader work that once in a while, in Mid range, that it made a little surge or clunk when first going forward. It was so slight and happened so infrequently, I figure it may be just an air-bubble or something in the HST. (2710)

At 50 hours I changed to Super UDT and now at 70+ hrs, I can't seem to remember it ever happening again. Maybe you have to break it in, get fluids moving, etc.

Nothing like this happens with my B2150. It does not sound like a good thing if you ever do any delicate work, or have someone helping you that is anywhere near the front. Could be quite dangerous in fact if I understand the problem correctly. Have you asked your dealer? What to they say?

My B2150 does similar things when trying to maneuver slowly at low engine RPMs. Times like backing into a 3-point implement when I really need precision control. Often, the ground I am operating on is sloped very slightly in the direction I am moving. It almost feels like the tractor coasts aheaad fo the HST and then hits enough resistance that the tractor slows down as the HST 'catches up'. invariably, it catches up just as I have half an inch yet to go to position the hitch exactly where I want it for easy connecting of the implement. It is gear sensitive, but I'm not sure which gear improves it. Just one of those things that I cope with and have never taken the time to properly diagnose. It is really annoying though

Now you guys really make me curious because I've never experienced anything like that with either the B7100 I used to have or the B2710 I now have. I think you should talk to your dealer about it, and let us know what you find out.

Hi Gerald,

I have a new B2910 and have not noticed that problem. I've only had it for a couple of weeks and have only done loader work with it so far, mostly in low gear. I only have about 4 hours on the machine as other work commitments and a VERY pregnant wife have kept me from doing some of the real work I bought it for. I will say that I'm amazed at how much work I got done in such a short period of time. These are awesome machines.

Perhaps it might need to be broken in a bit, but I'd keep a close eye on it and notify the dealer as well.

Good Luck,

Rick

My B2400 has never had even a hint of the behavior you describe. It has always been as smooth as can be at any RPM and in any range.

Are you sure the tractors that have this problem have Super UDT in them? From what I have read here, it seems that many owners and even some dealers use regular UDT or something else rather than the specified Super UDT. The correct fluid would be the first thing I would check for.

I have UDT, not Super UDT, in my B2710 and have never had that problem.

OK, This is what I got from Kubota, "Service Rep.". The B2910 has an anticreep
valve that opens below 350 to 400 lb. ,HSD pump to motor pressure, that bleeds
off some of the pressure. The valve closing is what I feel,
After talking to him I tried it again, and that is just the way it acts. It only bothers
me at lower RPMs in high range. At higher RPMs it happens so fast you don't notice it.
My 2910 has a lever on the right side of the seat called a cruise control. It does
work good, I hate to say this, but it works better than the speed control on my
L3010.
Is the valve and the cruse control something new on the 2910?
So far I like the 2910 OK, But I feel like I got a lot more for my money with the
L3010. Maybe this will help someone with the question "which one to buy". If
you have room to use it and want to buy stronger equipment, I would buy the
L3010 but the 4 wheel drive lever on the 3010 should say "Not for use with cheap
equipment".
