One lever (joystick?) to drop bucket.

Would you have a clear pic of your forks and attachment style. I have downloaded a number of images for reference - but more is always good.

My plan is to the the forks work on the loader as well as the 3 pt quick attach.

Lloyd

On lever meaning the lever that is located down behind the bucket/fork/spear/etc. that unlocks whatever is attached to the loader. Some manufact. have to loaders like Kubota I believe. Others have one.

Here is a Kioti loader that has two . . .

Mine has one big lever in the middle that actuates both locks on the each side of the quick attach plate.

Here is what the back of my forks and most implements should look like.

It might be easy to just buy a set of 3 pt. pallet forks than trying to convert a skid steer type to do both but hey I know people who like to create stuff. For me time is money so I would buy them if I needed them.

Thanks. One lever to lock/unlock on the 451. I know about the time/money equation - can you ever have both? With shipping and limited suppliers up here - stuff gets really expensive fast.

I enjoy designing and building stuff. And of course when you need it quickly - its only money!

Thanks for the pics. Now to find the time....

Hi,
In my opinion if you are considering a 40 to 45HP tractor you will be hard pressed to find a significant difference between the shuttle and HST. The only obvious difference is the immediate power of a direct drive/gear transmission when the clutch is engaged. Just like a truck...you let out the clutch, you move immediately. With an automatic there is an ever so slight delay while the pressure is built up to drive the wheels. .....KiotiDave

The other point is that it is easier to make very small movements with the HST as you can barely move the pedal and therefore very slowly nudge the tractor forward or back. Very helpful when hooking up implements.

Don't tell the safety police but you can also reach the HST pedals by hand when standing next to the tractor (hooking up an implement) to make small back/forward changes while dismounted.;)

I thought that's how you were supposed to hook-up the Back Hoe:)

That's how bad boys hook up backhoes. The good boys hop on and off the tractor 47 times to get the position just right.:D

Paul,

Yes I have a quick attach loader. Not sure if it skidsteer style. Angle form on top - two vertical pins bottom at sides. I bought a used set of forks which will be adapted for 3pt hitch as well as loader. - will post pics of project later - when I start it.

Any ideas on fluid film for protection. One of the things I did last night was greased every exposed nut & bolt - our salt air is corrosive.

Lloyd

Lloyd that Fluid Film is great stuff. I undercoat my truck with it each year. For a 1993 with orginal paint and plowed snow for the last 13 years with no rust it proves it's good stuff. I'll look forward to seeing your fork project. I may use your ideas ;)

Really like those pictures posted of the quick change system. Great looking system. I'm going to adapt that for my plow that I use on the truck. I hope I can tap into the tilt on the boom so it will angle the plow  I'm sure there's a way to do it. I better get the tractor first though  . Paul

Island Tractor,

I thought it took 47 times to hook up truck to trailer - especially when the wife is helping! We now longer do this together - too much stress!

"Tell me how close I am and which way to turn before I miss the hitch no after!"

Paul,

With your professional manufacturing and finishing skills in mind I will present the project - but - the shot will be from a distance, 1/4 mile or so!

Man I had some laugh when you talked about backing up the truck to the trailer hitch. The wife and I are the exact same way. I got her to read it and then I said " See, we're normal after all" :D

Professional manufacturing and finishing skills. You must have me mixed up with someone else ;) Thanks though!
