If it were me I'd get some foil faced foam board, 2 - 6" diameter starting collars, a roll of foil duct tape, and a sharp knife a long with many band-aids to stop the bleeding.
Make your own plenum with 1 starting collar to connect your existing flex duct into the plenum, and the other starting collar from the plenum to the finish ceiling.
Or something similar, good luck,
