hyd valve question

hey all,
just finished log splitter build
i have a prince valve with power beyond as my main splitter valve
then it goes to a old greson valve for log lifter
the log lifter works fine but my splitter cylinder only went out and if i try to reverse it my pressure spikes and stalls the engine
is it possible that the greson valve is closed center?
if so can it be changed? or do i need a new valve

Do you have a hose hooked at tank port to tank still on your valve with PB?
You could take the greson valve lines off, and see if you can blow air through it when in center position, if air goes through you will have an open center. ( P line to T line)

Does the Prince valve have regen ( regenerative)? Do you know the part # for it? Just to expand what murph asked you, You do have the T or OUT line hooked up to the prince valve?

i think i figured it out
i need to hook up another line from mainvalve {prince} next to the powerbeyond port and "t" it into the 2nd valves return line before filter?

Is this a 3pt log splitter or engine driven? If you have two separate valves and one has PB, then you should have two return hoses going to tank, with a tee fitting. The output of the PB should go to the input of the second valve. Did you install the PB sleeve in the PB port?

If the valve is a regem valve, you can not use it wth a two stage pump.

How about some pictures and more data?

If you did install the PB sleeve, and did not not remove the tank plug from the first valve, then the fluid had nowhere to go.

from power beyond i fed the 2 nd valve for log lift
hooked up cylinders
out port of 2nd valve to filter then to tank


after i posted i studied the plumbing schematic that came with valve and it appears the first valve has a port next to powerbond that has to go to tank also
