John,
Thanks for checking back. Yes, there is still a minor amount of frothing on the #4 line. Noticed this when I took the FEL off yesterday. I talked to my JD dealer service and he stated that if the FEL seems to be acting normal - no jerking, no abnormal noises while operating, etc., don't worry - be happy (Sounds like a song /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif). He suggested that if I'm still concerned, he can stop by and check it out. This dealer has a three week rotation and they can schedule a visit when coming thru.
There are three things that I am monitoring:
1. The minor frothing - don't even now where to begin to tighten any connections.
2. I have moved the FEL control stick back and forth without the FEL connected and hear a bang when I move the stick to the right (I believe). All the other positions make no noise. I mentioned this to the dealer and they said that a linkage arm may be hitting something and causing the bang. Hmmm - well then why doesn't that happen when the FEL is attached.
3. After turning off the tractor and with the FEL raised, the FEL will drop slowly to the ground. This will take 1/2 hour or more.
So, I think that I'll have JD service guy stop by in a few weeks. Want to do this before winter really sets in.
Another question - HST noise. How noisy should they be? Is it normal for them to squeel when accelerating? Don't know how to describe it any better/
Again, thanks for touching base.
OBTW, did you receive the check from us?
Terry
