You are gonna need a manufacturer and model in order to source that kit anywhere but the mower manufacturer.

Does anyone know of a better place to get the seal kit? I壇 about decided to pay the $66 but then they wanted $16 shipping. That痴 highway robbery. This would first in a padded envelope and ship for $2.

When I'm fixing a tool, my own measurement of if something costs too much is not so much how many dollars the parts are selling for, but how much the tool will do for me if it is fixed. In this case it sounds like $100 in parts will at least let you know if seals are the problem with that hydraulic motor, and maybe even fix a couple of thousand dollars worth of Grasshopper mower. Personally, I'd take that bet; it sounds like a deal to me. For that matter, I wonder what a complete hydraulic motor costs?

Sounds to me like you have been pretty lucky with that thing so far. I'd be tickled to find a Grasshopper locally that only needed some hydraulic work.

Wow, maybe we need to set up a go-fund-me for your $14.

It’s not the $16 dollars because that’s pennies compared to what the mower makes me but the principal. I gave $50 for this deck pulley and didn’t feel bad about it. Now if they wanted another $20 relocation fee or some other bs that would be a dealbreaker. IMG_1484.JPG

I’ve been real lucky with it so far. I bought this mower for $500 under the impression the drive motor was bad. The drive motor wasn’t bad and only had broken linkage between the handle and the pump. This $100 problem doesn’t even hurt the operation of the mower. It just makes a mess.

I found a Parker seal kit for $54 but it was aftermarket. I decided to order the $66 dollar Grasshopper kit and they were offering free shipping on orders over $100 so bought new rollers for the deck and an oil filter for the hydraulics which with the seal kit brought the total to $105.

I’m pretty sure this motor will live to cut grass again. My John Deere one that’s full of metal I’m not so sure about. IMG_1489.JPGIMG_1491.JPGIMG_1492.JPG
