Hydraulic quick connects ?

I have two different kinds of quick connect couplings on my tractor and I am trying to get this straight. Is there a secret decoder ring required?

Kubota dealer said I have to order from Kubota as nothing else works.

DMP(?) PBV-06F
and
Snaptite 72CF

Is there a standard?
Who makes them and are they called different things?
This is confusing to the non-hydraulic versed.
Can someone shed some light on this?

...and as long as your answering Gomer's question: Can you tell me which it better "ball" or "Poppit"? ( I was looking at the types of quick connects available at the Hydraulics Store).

I have a Kubota B2630 with above listed quick couplers which I believe are ISO-B series or snap tite 72C series or parker 60 series. Correct?

Are the series all the same size regardless of connection pipe size? Mine are 1/4" npt, will say 3/8" npt or 1/2" npt interchange?

The diverter valve I am buying says it is SAE 6 ports. What does that mean? Thread size? What fittings does it take?

Ok, I am by no means a expert on hydraulics, but here gos:

ISO series A should all interchange within the same connector size, ie 1/2 to 1/2

Same with ISO B

ISO A sometimes called 600 series include: Snaptite 61, Aeroquip 5600, Parker 6600.

ISO B sometimes called 700 series include: Snaptite 72, Aeroquip FD45, Parker 60.

For example: my tractor came with Faster brand series NV, this is a ISO A in 1/2" size and crosses with Parker 6600. This connector will interchange with either poppet style or ball style.

You will ussally see a ISO A or ISO B on modern tractors.

Another ball type is a ISO 5675 series, sometimes called Agricultural type.

Also most skid steers us a flat face connector ISO 16028.

So if you have a Snaptite 72 series that would be ISO B type.

Ah there is someone out there.

Thanks for the reply, if I read this right 1/4" quick couplers will only interchange with 1/4" quick couplers NOT 3/8" (I understand there are different series and they won't interchange). Correct?

The other thing that is really confusing is the whole hydraulic fitting thing. Here is what I found out:

1. SAE size 2,3,4,5,6,etc is in 16th of an inch so SAE 6 is 6/16 or 3/8". Some list sizes in 4m which would mean 1/4" male. They list sizes back and forth between SAE and inch sizes. You need to know this or nothing else makes sense.

2. National Pipe Tapered (NPTF) standard stuff we are all familar with.

3. SAE J514 37ｰ (JIC) which is 37 degree flare. Used on hydraulic hose ends, comes in 1/8"-2" or SAE 2-32 (see #1 above).

4. SAE J514 Straight Thread O-Ring Boss (ORB). This is what some hydraulic valves come with SAE 2-32 (see #1 above).

5. SAE J5143 O-Ring Face Seal (OFS). This is what some hydraulic valves come with SAE 2-24 (see #1 above).

6. SAE J514 Flareless Compression Tube Fittings. Used on steel hydraulic lines, comes in 1/8"-2" or SAE 2-32 (see #1 above).

7. SAE J512 45ｰ Flare used on refrigeration, not commonlt used on hydraulics.
