Hydraulic squeals when lifting heavy load

Iv never had an issue with the Golden west universal tractor fluid though which is one of the brands TSC uses here. Any universal trans/hyd fluid should work well.

You guys have the current experience with various brands of fluid. However, I have to say I am a skeptic. I can see some equipment being designed for "low viscosity" or "high viscosity" hydraulic fluid having nothing to do with brands or "quality." I just doubt there is proven good versus bad among commercial hydraulic fluids that would cause one to produce squeal and the other no squeal. I predict that whatever it was that caused your squeal will be back regardless of what brand fluid you use.

There definitely is a difference, at least with the GC2410, at least with my GC2410...within days (or maybe hours) of using the TSC oil (claiming to be Permatran-III equivalent) the squeal occurred when loading the hydraulics and continued until the next fluid change 200 engine hours later. Over one year later, not a single squeal using the Mobilfluid.

Did the same thing years ago on an old JD, squealed like a banshee, trip to JD & HyGard fluid fixed it. There is a difference.

I unloaded 3-1000 lb+ bales last night and not a peep out of the hydraulics. The last time I unloaded some prior to the fluid change it was squealing horribly. No doubt in my mind that it was the TSC hydraulic fluid causing the problem.

We live & learn, i'm sure there are good alternatives to "brand" specific, after that one experience, i don't want to find out the hard way & always spend the $$$ for "brand" specific, even though it's a big OUCH.
