( When you added a valve to your bank, did you have to take apart the complete valve bank, or just remove the last in line and put antoher in? Can you give me some details on how that operation went......Thanks. )Jim, We took all the lines off and then took the valve bank off the tractor. On the bench we simply removed the through bolts, then used a very fine blade to seperate the end cap and added the new one. Mine was fairly well seated and did not seem to want to just "fall apart". It's hard to say how yours will go but I can say even if it all comes apart it is real easy to just restack them and bolt back together. There is an o-ring between each spool that sits in it's own little groove.

What do you mean "seperate the end caps"? Is the "spool" an individual part of the valve that you can handle, or is it internal to the valve assembly as a whole?

I'm sure this will make more sense when I get it all apart, but want some details so I'm not going in completely dark. I don't want to screw up my hoe /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sectional control valves are typically made of at least 3 sections, the inlet section, the spool or work section(s), and the outlet section. These are all ganged together to form the actual valve.

If you go to the Prince Hydraulic website and lookup the Prince SV valve description documents they give a fairly good description of stackable (or sectional) control valves.

( What do you mean "seperate the end caps"? )The end caps are more or less just another part that stacks on to the valve. It has to be removed because the new spool has to go in line with the rest of the spools or it will not get fluid to work. It sounds more complicated than it it. You just take the bolts out, take the end cap off, put the new spool in place, put the end cap back on and rebuilt it together.

( Is the "spool" an individual part of the valve that you can handle, or is it internal to the valve assembly as a whole?)Yes you can handle it. It is completely self contained and no parts to add or to fall off. If you look at your valve assembly. You will 3/4" wide spools lined up. This is just one more of those.

Jim, I bet that additional empty spool valve spot you found is for operating the hydraulic jack option for the BH?

How much fluid did you lose? My mind's eye is seeing gallons upons gallons of brand new Super UDT all over the floor, on my legs and boots /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Hopefully this will not be the case if I release as much pressure as possible from the the hoe prior to turning wrenches.

I still have to do a lot of parts research. I left a couple of message with Kubota and spoke with Ronnie at tractorsmart.com. Nobody knows anything at this point and getting a Kubota engineer on the line is difficult at best. Hopefully I can talk my way into a conversation with an engineer tomorrow morning.

Sky, That makes sense and would be an awesome addition to the hoe! It would still be controlled by the same pedal I believe. I have heard the dealer speak of such a thing, but have never seen a picture of one...have you?

On the ceiling, the walls......kidding oh course. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Not much. Each line has some in it and the valve assembly has a fair amount but nothing catastrophic. Maybe 1 quart total if that much. We put some rags down and it was no problem.

You may have better luck as your tractor seems to have already been all set-up for extra hydraulics where as mine was not. All they would say regarding our project was they had something in the works for the BX but it had not been finished and tested so they would not disclose any info. We just gave it a shot and it worked out. Oh course it helped that my dealer said he would take the spool back if we couldn't use it.

Sky,

When is your machine returning from the shop? Can't wait to see some detailed pictures /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
