Hydro failure

I have a TF321 with a mid mounted mower. I lost the hydro drive for the tractor with no apparent noise or abrupt change. I stopped to make a small reverse and direction change however it just stopped. The PTO and mid-mount are still active.

The service shop guys are talking about either a pump failure or the whole hydro unit replacement (the latter sounds horrific on the wallet!).

Appreciate any views on other possible causes and cost effective solutions.

ya won't really know till you look in there

or if you can hook up a test guage on the hydro pump or something to run it to see what its doing

have seen some high hp landini shear drive shafts in half, seen deutz fahr break axles, and the operator, really didn't know what he did

my advise is load it up and take it to the service shop (power farming?? in NZ)......let the mechanic make the assessment.....could be the cheapest way.....

complete hydro replace ment?......err........how many hours on the machine.....rebuilding shouldn't be too bad

Machine has 2600 hrs on it so will look at re-build, but like you say, we have to open it up and understand what it looks like.

I'm not sure if it is a shorn shaft as it is tries bloody hard to engage.

well another story has emerged - the blokes at the shop believe it is the charge pump in the hydro that is the issue however Iseki do not sell this seperately and are suggesting I purchase a new hydro unit.

As i haven't yet won the lottery, I am a little stuffed and am searching to find a replacement charge pump or second hand hydro unit - any ideas appreciated

probably could try millars machinery in leeston canterbury for a wrecked one........chances are they know what they are worth too

hmmm........not easy is it.........whats the hydro replacement worth in relation to the purchase price of the machine...........whats your insurance like?
