The threads will be easily taken care of. It's the Key and Hex bolt that is the main issue. Find a local shop and have it taken care of properly. Your pump is all in tack so that would be the HIGH $$$ cost. Just have a professional take care of putting it back together. Then get it home and bolt it up...

It is a woodruff key. Support the shaft, tap one end down with a pin punch, the other end will come up. Grab it with a pair of vise grip pliers.

That's the correct answer.

But if the remaining part of the key still won't budge, try some dentistry with a tiny circular saw on a Dremel. A slot lengthwise down the middle of the broken key would weaken its grip in the slot.

And that looks to be a key that is much softer than the surrounding metal so it is sacrificed before anything expensive breaks. Be sure the replacement is similar!

For me, if minor tinkering won't fix it I would follow the advice here and take it to a hydraulic shop.

Key popped out very easily. These threads are really buggerd.

If the threads have any holding power you will be ok. The key and hex is what takes all the torque. the nut just holds the hex from coming off. Don't overtighten.

Yea those last two threads is what holds that last nut I think it will be good.

May have enough threads to apply some loctite and get it to hold.. I see now.. That large nut just slides over the key, then the small nut holds it together....
Now make the repairs ,and go sin no more Meaning ,, don't run the tractor with any hyd lines disconnected, or you install a loop to complete the circuit between the 2 lines you disconnect.
