Tractor
Yanmar 186d
I took the snow plow off the tractor 186D. Pto hitch will not go up now so I looked and the fluid is really low. I pulled the dip stick for the hydro fluid and all the fluid started throwing up out of the hole. The tractor is cold and was not started today. Why is this happening? Thanks for the help Yanmar gods!

No. I knew it was low. I got some fluid today and was going to add some. I checked it to see how much to put it. I looked back and it was puking

Anyone? Should I just drain it all ? How can there be pressure in there if the tractor has not been started?

I am confused, nothing unusual about that though. Wondering if your pump is picking up air and if so it would puke through the return into the transmission. Maybe just needs some fluid? :confused3:

I unplugged the snow plow is there a valve or something to shut? It was just 2 quick disconnects.

I don't know how your snow plow is plumbed. If there is a control valve before the quick disconnects then unplugging them should have no ill affects. If the two disconnects are before the control valve then you may have dead headed your pump.

I also did not have the tractor running when I disconnected everything. If I pull the stick and oil comes out it seems like it over filled. I know it had to lose a lot of fluid that is still in the lines of the plow and what was lost last night. Don't know if I should try adding more to see if it works or draining everything and replacing oil and filter.

That oil looks like it has water in it. I doubt that is causing the problem, but if the oil does have water in it in needs drained and filter changed.

It is very milky looking
That is usually what happens when it gets water in it. Pour some of the milky oil in a clear jar. Let it sit a couple days and see if it separates.

If you are saying there is pressure in the trans, you need to clean the "U" shaped vent tube under the seat.
