I would be looking at a Hyd. Valve however it's setup. Can't find anything on the valve itself or your setup. Here a pick of my 2000. so it maybe similar. It has the U-Vent and were the spring attaches to the lift handle is were mine raises or lowers the 3-point. If it is similar make sure it's working. Chrome Plunger in for up out for down.

I guess I should have cleaned the screen to while the oil was out. Can I still do it with oil in it?

Oh! I see that. No wonder then. Something has to Regulate the Fluid. What ever the setup is in there. Is what I would be trying to find out more Info. about. And on the Screen Absolutely get that clean.

That little bent one down there?
I think that little one vents the brake drum. (And there's another on the opposite side). Originally there was a vent hose from there up to under the seat. Made that way so these can run half-submerged without hurting anything.

On YM186D I think the vent for the transmission is in the filler cap, no inverted 'J' at the top of the transmission like the earlier Yanmars.

As for cleaning the screen - it's under your left thigh. On one of my YM186D's I took the cover off and the cavity had drained down, like removing a valve cover. On the other YM186D the cavity was full and a half pint of oil fell out. I don't know which is correct. So put a drain pan on the floor to catch any mess. Careful prying that screen cover off. Hoye sells replacement covers because the cast aluminum breaks easily. It's sealed with a large o-ring, no need for a replacement gasket.

The pump will self-prime, its a positive displacement pump.

Can I clean that with oil in it?

Sure if you can even get to it without draining it. But watch how much and what kind if debris your removing. It may end up back on the screen. Try to remove it!!

My parts Man. says this is for a 187 so it maybe the same one. Again ??? If it is I would remove it and use whatever it takes to clean it Gas, Diesel etc.. HYDRAULIC SCREEN: Yanmar Tractor Parts

If your sure you have the filter clean then move to the pump. loosen the connection of a line from the pump to the 3Pt. and look for fluid. No fluid, Dirty filter or sheared keyway on the pump shaft Hoye # HWK 522 Shaft key. Very rare for a pump to go bad. That's what I would look for next is the Shaft Key. Keyway/Shaft keys good Then I bet the pump went out.
