Hydro's and brake pedals

No problem with hydro controls on the right. Haven't read anyone mentioning that they wanted hydro controls anywhere else.

Issue being kicked around (literally :) ) is individual turning (cutting) brake pedals on the right along with the hydro pedals. But they are where they are, and as some have said...get used to it, don't use them at all, or trade up. :) We all have options. This thread has been discussing a few of them.

I always wanted individual rear wheel brakes on my lawn tractors, until I started the Deere 400 series All-Wheel Steer tractors. They make individual brakes un-necessary for sure. They've been great.

And...I like to feather the PTO too. My Deere 4300 allows me to do that, but newer models have the electric switch. Deere knows that it can be done and designed for the sudden start, you can be sure. :)

I suspect there are othe reasons for having an electro/hydraulic pto such as safety interlocks but having it on two tractors I can tell you it works well. My gear tractor (820) has a two stage clutch and I am not keen on wearing this clutch assembly out, it is pricey.

So on the Mahindra you have the clutch pedal is really for the pto and is operated by your left foot and your right foot controls left and right brakes and direction control? That right foot seems a little busy.:D

I guess that you passed over in my posts that I do not use the brakes while using my Mahindra 3215HST. That's ok.;) I have not had any problems turning my wheels left and right so far and don't expect to have any problems in the future, so no my right foot stays pretty steady on the F-R pedals.

Thanks for pointing that out, I corrected it in the post. Was busy thinking of everything else that I have responded to in this thread.;)

Art , if you ever actually drove a jd with turn brakes AND used said turn brakes you would see that the front wheels dont get drug around at all . these machines turn so sharp as you yourself said that they actually look like they are pulling the front of the tractor around. at no time are they being DRUG around . further more when disking or plowing theres enough weight on the back of tractor that thers not much on the front wheels . that kinda shoots your theory of wear and tear down. not to mention these machines come with a fairly long warrenty . i bet you cant find not one single person that has ever had a problem with a jd tractor because of turn brakes. if you have by all means let the word out before jd goes under fixing all these machins . please have mercy think of all the widows that have there fortune tyed up in jd stock. speaking of tractors 30 years ago my 3000 ford will basically turn the front wheels horozontal to the back wheels kinda shoots down the old tractors not turning very deep huh.

have you ever used a tractor for any actuall work or do u just sell them ??

It appears from several pictures you have posted that your setting has a lot of wide open expanses. Whereas someone operating in a heavily wooded area and tight quarters may have frequent need of turning brakes.

I like you don't need them very often but expect to be able to use them where needed without issues.

I agree 100%, that a person needs to purchase a machine that will easily work in the conditions that he has to work with.

With my circumstances I have never had a reason to even think about using the cutting brakes and cannot ever foresee the situation that I would truly need them.

I will say this again, the cutting brakes on the same side as the hydro controls DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE. But it is what it is and thousands of people for whatever reasons have these types of machines and operate them on a daily basis without incidence. Is the 2 pedal system on the left any better? Probably so, but I for one can honestly say that it would make NO, ZERO difference in my operation of my tractor at my location doing what I do with my tractor.

This was last year, split brake u-turn on a tight woods trail, easier than k-turn in less space.

And a little ice sculpure, just fooling around :)
