Here's another thought for those with vibration problems. Try adding weight to the mirror itself to change the vibration frequency. You should be able to change it to a frequency that isn't amplified by the engine running. Just a thought.

What do you suggest putting on the mirror for weight, and what location..on the glass? Thanks

I've never experimented with this so I'm just picking ideas off the top of my head so to speak. If your mirrors are mounted like Tom1023's are then just try wrapping a rag around the mirror between the loader post and the mirror. If that works then I would just epoxy some heavy nuts or something similar to the back of the mirror. Even some plastic braces or a piece of sewer pipe siliconed in between the mirror and the loader post would probably do the trick at least until you rub the mirror with a branch or something. If your mirror is mounted higher like Shawn Morin then just a good weight of some sort held on with the mounting bolt on the back of the mirror would be good enough. A 3 inch circle of 3/8th's or 1/4" flat steel would be more than enough to do the job. Use your imagination to make it look half descent and away you go. If you can remove the mirror without breaking it just fill the back with silicone and that would probably be enough. You could probably just drill a hole in the back and when your done filling it with silicone just turn the hole to the bottom and most people would never know.

Adding in a piece of heavy conveyor belt type rubber between the solid part of the mount and the mirror has worked well for me. I used a piece about 2" x 6" with one end bolted to my canopy framework and the mirror mounted on the other end. It has just enough flex to attenuate the vibration.

I'm think of using a small piece of the rubber stall mat that sold at Tractor Supply. Use it for lots of applications and think it may work well for absorbing vibration.

A little mod. I found the mirrors needed to be raised and moved outward. So I took some 1/2" emt, cut two 8" pieces and flattened and drilled the ends. This improved the visibility. I'll paint them black when I get motivated.

If vibration is bad, try loading some steel shot into a very small, oil filled bottle (Rx, 35mm film, "nips", etc) & attach that to your mirror back or arm.

Just as a new development in my mirror mounting adventures, my latest try uses no anti-vibration tricks at all. I have the fiberglass canopy on my tractor, and I just bent a piece of 1 1/2" x 1/8" strap into an "L" shape about 4 or 5 inches either side. One leg got two 1/4" holes for mounting to the canopy, and the other got one 1/4" hole for mounting the mirror. Mounted this rig under the front of the canopy, about 4" back from the front edge. Fired up for a test run, and to my surprise, no noticeable vibration at all. This might be the best mounting place yet for those of us with the fiberglass canopies.

I realized there is a flat spot at the top of the loader posts.... and I have an old convex stick-on mirror... found some new double sided tape and 5 min later it was stuck. Will give it a try, was quick and easy, and cost me $0.00
