The mirrors are 8 1/2 inch convex glass with a stainless frame They were around $14.00 each. They have a swivel. I took a 2'' wide piece of block plastic - 1/2 thick, 2'' wide and applied a 2'' wide strip of anti vibration material between the plastic and he Main frame of the FEL. the section that mounts to the frame of the tractor. I used 3M adhesive and tie wraps to secure the entire project. Seat in your seat and figure out how long you need to have the plastic backing, thus allowing for your height and your angle of viewing. BTW, the anti vibration material is also self adhesive and was $22.00 for a strip-36' length and 2' width. I installed this project around 1 1/2 years ago. Absolutely no vibration or problems. I took awhile to figure what I wanted because I have a prothesis on my left leg below the knee. This made a He*L of a difference. It made my life much easier. BTW, the mirrors are made by CIPA.

Thanks for the information. These are round mirrors, I assume. Do you find the convex mirrors easy to use/backing up,etc.?

I have mounted two sets of convex on and was not happy with either. I found the mirror "glass" dark, distorted, and very hard to use. Don't know
if I had defective ones or if I am just not used to them??

You have actual glass in your CIPA's? I am going to see them tomorrow at a local auto store.

Love to see a photo of the materials and application.

Yes, the mirrors are round.and are glass. I don't have the capability of posting pictures. Sincerely sorry. I have completely several projects and wish that I could have posted the pictures. Best wishes.

BTW.my Wife sewed two Crown Royal bags together and made slip covers for the mirrors. This reduces reflection from the Sun when not in use. Real easy and fast to take off.

I have been using a steel mounting bracket attached to the same FEL support. Wondering if the plastic would be better to help elimiminate vibration?
Where did you buy the plastic and anti-vibration materials?
One further question about the mirrors. The 8.5 inch size is larger than what I see others using. How do you feel about the size..would a smaller 5-6" diameter work as well?

I bought the mirrors and anti vibration strip from Amazon. The 8 1/2 inch mirrors work best for me. They don't extend out too far and don't get in my way. A neighbor of mine was an engineer in the airplane industry and told me that plastic would suit my needs better. I got the piece of plastic from a cabinet maker.

Here's another thought for those with vibration problems. Try adding weight to the mirror itself to change the vibration frequency. You should be able to change it to a frequency that isn't amplified by the engine running. Just a thought.
