I've got the 2620 - I don't recall seeing the extra cap, just the one on the rocker cover but it is a slightly different engine I guess. That's where I filled mine. What the heck is that other cap for? it's got to be the engine oil as well. I don't think I have that on the 26 hp. Wait for somebody with the 29 to answer and remember - don't panic - stay calm, you will figure it out.
I can not beleive I just did this - help please!

I am trying to relax but cant. Is you tractor close by - can you run out and see if you have a Oil Fill right under the air-intake?

It could be that you simply haven't put enough oil in yet.
One thing that's for certain: you haven't broken anything - so as all the others say.. relax
I had a similar worry years ago, and it turned out that I wasn't putting the dipstick in all the way.
Try using a piece of wire that is a little longer than the dipstick itself: see it you "hit oil" with that. You haven't broken anything.... take it easy

Take a pic of both and post them to see. It may be it has 2 oil fill caps.
I will go out - it's raining and it's outside so you owe me- just kidding. I know mine holds a bit less than four quarts and yours should hold a bit more according the the manual. I think yours has a larger sump thus maybe the two caps - I will check mine now.

I've just got one filler cap on the rocker cover and one drain but it is a smaller engine. Man - I think I know your problem! You don't have enough oil in there yet. Mine didn't show until I was over three quarts and you have an even bigger sump. Start putting more oil in the top fill, you aren't up to the stick yet! - Man -I am almost sure that is it.

Hum....I dont know about that - I have almost the entire gallon in there now -its suppose to be 3.7 qts.
I am thinking maybe the sump has two sections and I filled up the one that doesnt show up on the dip.
