I have no clue how half of them are able to continue in police work when they look like water buffalo's. Why they make LEO uniforms for fat people is beyond me.. They have to wait for a cop in good shape to chase someone on foot, I'm sure that makes the the cops in shape happy.... The in shape cops probably get a call all to often because fatty needs a backup to chase someone down..

Shows they have no pride and no desire to even stay in shape..

The only show I have ever seen with ALL fit for the job cops is "Alaska State Troopers"..

My 'last statement' was limited to the handful of LEOs I ride with on weekends, not 75% of anyone's mistaken conclusion.

No clinkers in our bunch, and no sincere complaints here or I'd just hang with the Firemen among us.

How about a sense of humor and comments that go above many heads, in this case, way above? :confused2:

Sarcasm is often lost on the uptight or those that 'sound like' it and what if I say that ~75% of people posting in this thread DO.

Being in law enforcement is tough work and if you have never done it yourself then don't show your ignorance by watching COPS and pretending to know what it is like. Most LEO's are good, honest, people who deal with people who are neither. Sitting on your *** and criticizing those that willingly put themselves in harms way makes you look petty.

The National Center for Health Statistics estimates that, for 2015-2016 in the U.S. , 39.8% of adults aged 20 and over were obese. Police departments, as well as the armed services, have to deal with the population available to them.

Start with 100% of the adult population. Remove those not interested, tough enough, or brave enough to do police work. Remove those with criminal records and those who can't pass a drug test Then consider that 40% of American adults over are overweight. What is left is the candidate pool you have available to you. It is understandable that some overweight people are going to work in LEO and in the military.

Police departments and the military are filled with the same people who make up this country. Do you really think that either is going to be free of liars, cheats and outright bad people? It never was and never will be. To say a large percentage of LEO's is bad or that the bad run the departments hasn't been my experience.

The military and L.E. have had to lower their standards because of the population. If you are physically fit and this bothers you then feel free to join one or the other. Chances are you will still be outrun by someone about to lose their freedom.
