Here's one of those upstanding cops. There have been many fired for rape and forcing women under arrest to perform sex acts. in various towns and cities around where I live.

There have been several prison guards that have been fired for smuggling drugs into the prisons, and having sex with inmates.
I consider a prison guard the same as a cop, as they have to go through the same training as a trooper, and are sworn officers in my state

And I don't know of any department that maintaines sworn officers that are unable to provide reliable testimony, they may still work for a department but not in a sworn position.

An officer that can't testify in court is useless to a department and is just a liability.

You may not be very familiar with Civil Service laws.

Maybe you guys are right, they’re all corrupt jerks who are only in it for power, and all of the money they can steal. :stirthepot:

There are a lot better, quicker and easier ways to accomplish those goals than being a police officer.

btw, when LEOs invite me to a 'ride & camp-out' H.O.G. weekend with them .. I wonder if they just want a civilian to mess with. Experienced LEOs seem to recognize when I'm intimidated, and sometimes they'll really mess with me after a few shots. ..

?? As I read it, he said that 75% are good. Where do you get that he said they are all bad?

My 'last statement' was limited to the handful of LEOs I ride with on weekends, not 75% of anyone's mistaken conclusion.

No clinkers in our bunch, and no sincere complaints here or I'd just hang with the Firemen among us.

How about a sense of humor and comments that go above many heads, in this case, way above? :confused2:

Sarcasm is often lost on the uptight or those that 'sound like' it and what if I say that ~75% of people posting in this thread DO.

Why don't we just forget about guessing the percentages of good cops bad cops because none of us have a clue really.. There is no factual way to even calculate the real number because of the lies they feed us on a daily basis..

If someone does a google search for just about anything they think the information they read is fact, not even close..

In recent years we have learned that there is no such thing as neutrality when it comes to personal character...everybody leans one way or another either slightly or more so...
We have learned that there is no such thing as being unbiased when comes to journalism...a media that at one time was held in the highest regard for fairness and equality...all that respect down the tubes...same as with the scientific fields...scientists are now under the same cloud... All of us have biases there is no escaping them...

And we are supposed to believe that LEOs are any different?...right ! ...Less educated maybe but still in a position of influence and power which allows them to exploit their particular biases etc...
