I see... don't you think though that the ground works better when moist? Sweat is definitely not unique to humid climates, it's just less effective in cooling the body I have found.

Stan, I wouldn't know much about Southern California, I've only been down there twice. It's a lonnnng drive to LA from here. You have to remember, comparing Northen Californias climate to that of Southern California would be like comparing New York to South Carolina. Quite a few miles separating the two. I understand Phoenix Arizona has gotten more humid over the years as folks have flocked there and used irrigation from golf courses to agriculture to residences. I wonder how Muhammad likes the weather in Tuscon over New York, my suspicions are he rather enjoys the lack of humidity. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

it needed a liner and pool cover. Wife said get rid of it since we do not use it. Parents have one too (inground 20x40) and are going to do the same I think...

I had Kreepy Krawly and that well, is 6 ft under now!

Wife did not want it anyways. For me it added more yard to mow (which I wanted) and it is easier to stay inside (ac) with a mixed drink then take the energy to move in a pool! I run for excerise and swimming I do not like to much...

So now the grass is growing and the sprinklers are installed!!!!!

You sweat easier or more in humid weather...it does not evaporate from your buddy as well. I like the drier ground as far as getting around in the woods etc.Not having the mud to deal with.

Why I've been to Northern California a lot more times that that. We passed through there on our way to Bellingham to catch the ferry for our summer vacations in the cool cool north. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I remember once leaving work with another transplanted southerner, and a native Los Angleno. Your weather must have travelled across the country and settled over us! High eighties and so muggy I can't see Hunger Mountain across the valley! And this being Vermont, we have great heating systems but no AC. Two miserable nights with fans pointing at the bed...and dog fur flying everywhere! Hope it breaks soon! Pete

Our forecast today in the Baltimore area is for 96-98 degrees with over 80% humidity. I will be handling it by sitting in my air-conditioned office, then riding home in my air-conditioned car, followed by staying in my air-conditioned home.

As of 8:00a, it's currently 79 degrees with 79% humidity. The schools in my county have already announced they are ending 3 hours early today.

Well it'll be cooking today.. might even break the temp record - 94°F (1956). I've heard it suppose to be in the high 90's today.. weather says high of 93.. w/ 57% humidity.. feels like 102.

W/ the good rain storm yesterday.. todays heat should make the field of sweetcorn & beans I planted this weekend jump out of the ground pretty quick.
