Here's a schematic to the two types of pedals listed for the CK35.

Deerherd, is part # 35 the coupler that locks the pedals together? From Tony's description, this doesn't sound like what he has.

I updated my post and put up the two types listed for the CK35

Tony, do you own any Fiats by any chance? I was thinking you might be a Fiat mechanic?!:confused2:
Do you have any owner's manual for your tractor? If so, it probably details how to split the brake pedals....
What about a Sawzall? They're pretty good at wreaking stuff!

No, I'm not a mechanic of any sort, just handy enough to get myself into trouble:). The manual is a really bad Korean translation that only mentions that the brakes split, with no instructions or pictures on how to split them. And of course I have a Saws-All, with many blades. That's the most important tool for wreaking things... but lets not go down that road...

You should be able to do this without any tools. Can you just unscrew part #35?

I would not do anything to split them . Our ck 30 HST is like Diag. 2 . I tried the 2-foot turn and it just doesn't work ! If you ask me their should be 1- peddle .

No, the bolt (Part #37) is what is holding the rod (#35) from sliding, and I can not get it to budge. I know that in practicality I'll almost never use split brakes, but I want to be able to do it.

OK, here are the pics.

The first is a close up of the problem bolt (#37) where it attaches to the rod (#35). The 2nd is the whole assembly with the rod slid inboard, the 3rd is the rod slid outboard as far as it will go.

Hope this will lead to some answers

PB Blaster or Kroil would be my weapon. Supposedly there's one better but I have not found it again.

/edit - no sawzall! excuse to buy plasma cutter!!

1. apply sawzall
2. remove two pieces
3. replace with bolt/retainer of your choice.
