Well...here is the easier way.

First wall sections in place.

Originally I had thought of doing it this way. Then decided that a stone wall [cast concrete stones that interlock] might be better.

Then I priced those things and found that it would have cost me $20 per foot. So it was back to the original idea...

In the end I am pretty satisfied with this approach...

Here is a detail shot.

The wall sections essentially float. They are positioned and leveled on the crushed stone. At the ends they are bolted together. Then cleats were nailed across the posts and the frame of the wall panels. At the mid points where the 4x4 post are, I put 4x4 uprights in the panels. The cleats I nailed there were 3/4 pressure treated plywood.

I say the wall panels are floating because they will carry no vertical load...
