Nice before and after pics!!!!! If fits in there like it's always been there and looks very natural. You did a great job of it.

Eddie

I agree with Eddie. The pond is placed well into the yard and it correlates with the placement of the trees nicely. Are you planning on doing anymore landscape around the pond? I think it would look good if you did. It would add appeal to the look of the pond.

Boeing,
You can dig out with your loader bucket. I dug down to about 4 feet, but the small size of the pond and the depth I wanted dictated using a backhoe. If I had the room, I could have dug out the pond only with the 7 foot wide bucket. This was really faster digging then digging with the backhoe, then hauling out the spoils with the loader bucket.

I just dozed, then tilted back and lifted the bucket when I got to the edges of the pond. After a while, it was just too tight in the bowl shaped basin to turn around safely with a full loader bucket of dirt.

Boeing,
These photos show how the backhoe gave the small pond a lot of depth.

Boeing,
I used to be a freighter mechainc for Ryan taking care of the USPS DC-9 and Emery's 727s. So I worked days then and Y'all flew nights. So that makes you a member of The Order of Sleepness Knights.

So who do you fly for now?

I have made an air diffuser out of scrap airhose. It is about 10 feet long and coiled and ty wrapped. Numerous #40 drill bit holes are in it. I will secure this in a weighted bucket and lower it to the bottom of the pond. The homemade air diffuser is saving me $50 and up. I made one of these years ago, at work, and still use it in hot, confined spaces of the aircraft for cooling.

Nice pond Brandi!
Is this a Wizard of Oz thing or do I have an overactive imagination

Brandi---hi--

I was wondering if by chance you could not put a small shallow water well in? If lucky it might provide enough water to keep the pond topped off....I know wells are tricky, and personally I am lucky to have just enough water (now) for the house..In the beginning it pumped a good number of gallons a minute ....Tony
