I use a sawzall and chainsaws, small Axe for kindling firewood. Maul for splitting (8lb). I would like a felling axe to breeze through larger saplings as I clear trails. So have been looking.

I picked this one up at Harbor Frieght i have another on order but they told me it's back ordered, this axe after a small amount of dressing it's cutting edge has really been a powerful chopper, and so far the head has stayed tight.

4-1/2 lb. Hickory Axe

Too much $$$$ for an imported wood handle HF product.

I prefer a machette for lopping off small branches. Easier being a one handed instrument. I pretend I'm in a cave with Kurtz! lol

i love wacking at them with my Axe everytime i hit the stump i think i am choping my ex wives oldest son in his worthless head.

Yikes..... Well, I have plenty more stumps for ya here in Michigan is you have any further aggression you need to get out, lol.

Lately I've been getting lazy and just flush cutting trees on my trails and yard edges. Yes, the stumps are very annoying. But I just don't have time to dig them out. I keep telling myself that next time I rent and excavator, I'll remember where they all are and go pluck them out. We'll see....

ALWAYS easier to leave a few feet of stump if you intend to dig them out. I have owned a few stump grinders, big and small, but that's time and work too.

I would love to visit Michigan i keep remembering that song Bobby Bear sang ( By days i make the cars by nights i make the bars) yeah still hear him singing it.
But that was long before your presient Governor, she would be the main reason i could not feel good being in Michigan today.

I really like my Stihl axe and maul . Like $107 each OTD . I also have a couple Husqvarna swedish axes but like the Stihl's more .
The Stihl axe and maul are actually made by OCHSENKOPF in Germany . If you buy the OCHSENKOPF colors these axes and mauls are way more $ . I 'am not trying to brand bash or stir mud but I 'am not a fan of Fiskers stuff .

Stihl Pro Splitting Axe vs Pro Splitting Maul - YouTube

BTW I'am also not a Stihl brand chainsaw loyalist , but I will share with you's this axe and maul is money well spent . Just my :2cents: .

I looked at the STHIL Axes at my local STHIL Dealer and i did not like the poorly ground blade edges, this is why i ordered the axe from German-Made Forest Axe | Full-Size Tree Chopper | Garrett Wade but after placing my order was informed they were on back order, so i bought this axe from Harbor Freight 4-1/2 lb. Hickory Axe and after a little dressing of edge it's a super good axe still waiting for the one from Garett&Wade.
As i am also waiting for a Sun Joe SWJ803E 10 inch pole chainsaw.
