Someone posted pix of a crispy copper thief who had expired on top of a transformer. It was pretty disgusting but funny in a very harsh way. I am sure it was culled for being too graphic.

There was a story in the newspaper today about some guy in ct (I think) who was robbed of scrap metal... Stayed the next night at the place with his shotgun... bad guys showed up again for more. Moral of the story - shotgun one - 2008 ford truck zero. He shot out the radiator, tires and windshield!

I have a friend that has a tag line on his email that says:

Politicians should be changed as often as diapers,
and for the same reasons!

Unfortunately we do not do this, we keep hiring the same ones over and over. They only become politicians because they could not hold a real job.

So the guy made scrap metal out of the truck. I wonder if he got to keep it as restitution for what was stolen?

I know some politicians at the local level who truly are dedicated public servants. Don't condemn them all. After all, someone has to do that job, don't they?

We'd best be careful here lest we cross the line and begin discussin politics, although I think a general discussion of the worth of the whole undertaking without picking sides isn't out of bounds is it?

In my seemingly endless attempt to keep the local meth addicts and various assorted white trash from stealing any more of my gear I am camouflaging all of my attachments as time permits. I moved them well into the wood line so they are hard to see from the road (dead end gravel road 1+ miles from asphalt). Although our dead end 2 mile long dirt road leads nowhere we seem to have more and more trucks with trailers trolling it. There are many easier targets within a 5 mile radius of our place so I hope to be left alone. Rattle canning a brand new $1,500 brush hog hurt but at least I may be able to keep this one.

It did help a friend... he had a very large chain that actually broke the bolt cutter the thieves tried to use.

Throw on a few real tree or mossy oak decals, should help ease the pain.
