I get slightly irritated by people who post with no content on a regular basis. "Hello from wherever I live" comes to mind, seldom offering any help to the OP, just trying to build up their post count. To be fair though there are others like me for instance that post long wordy, seldom correct information that no one wan'ts to read. Guess it all balances out in the end.

You, sir, are an excellent practitioner of the succinct, knowing that a "soft answer turneth away wrath!" I look forward to your posts.:cool2:

What I think is that these responses show people truly want to understand what others are writing. Getting your idea across clearly in writing is not always easy. Getting it across with a sloppy, I-don't-care-what-you-think-jughead attitude is even harder, and disrespectful.

Not everybody has command of all talents, obviously. And nobody is here to make fun of anybody, or to denigrate anybody.

I think these responses show that we honestly want to clearly understand what others are saying.

Nobody is asking for novelist perfection and grammar, just a small measure of care to let us understand you.

And as we age, and work around farm machinery, some of us aren't equipped as well with the required appendages to operate a keyboard.

Hey, doing the best I can........ :D

You have a long way to go before you can't type.
Only need two fingers for that.

I too have to say at minimum all posters should list the state they are in...
Most states are big enough that this much info will give away there location....
Personally, I don't care.... But it does make it easier to understand the posters prospective
when they are explaining about locally unique things....
If there in witness protection.... Well maybe they shouldn't post....

Now about spelling and grammar... I grew up where the phrase "Throw the cow over the fence some hay"
Was a perfectly acceptable instruction....

I have been a poor speller all my life.... And quite frankly.. It has been VERY embarrassing at time...
"Spell check" has been a big help to me... But at times I have confused it....

For the most part.... I can ignore the "spelling and grammar" snobs..... As... well... just snobs....
If that is all they have to complain about.... I don't have any time for them....

I'm more interested in learning a good idea or other useful info from a fellow poster...
Let the snobs sink there fangs in one another, and leave the rest of us alone that way...

My 2 cents....

The spelling, punctuation, caps., …all that I can get over real easy, What pisses me off is "big" pictures in posts. That "big" (I guess) in digital language is pixels or something. I have crappy internet service and these "big" pics take forever to load. Set your camera on "email" or something "smaller" than a portrait studio would use.
I know, this is my problem not your's, but I'm sure that a bunch of folks here are in the same internet boat as I am. We live miles away from the normal suburban/city internet service. This is a tractor forum after all.:drink:

Standard pic size is either the thumbnail approach or 800 x 600 pixels.
The internet can't throttle back to accommodate the weakest links in the system.
I know it sounds cold but that's how the world works.

Please help me when you post.

If it is necessary for you to use the word "here" in your post, please tell us where you are. Put it in your post or put it in your profile. It will be a big help to figuring out what you're talking about.

And one more thing. I have difficulty with posts that don't have paragraphs and punctuation. I like capitalization, too, and hope you use it, but really can get along without it. There is nothing worse, though, than trying to plow through a post that is 30 lines long with no punctuation or paragraphs.

Please help me understand your posts.

Pretty please?
