Ever been in the bathroom and see someone use the facilities and then walkout with washing their hands?

Do you want to shake their hands?

If they did not wash their hands you might as well shake their...

Well you probably do anyway. Someone who doesn't wash then grabs the door handle. You wash then grab the handle...guess what?

Since I do computer work now I wash my hand 4-5 times a day, especially in this season with the colds and flus going around.

You guys are panzies. What do you do in the woods when you need to use the facilities? How about on a construction site after visiting the porta-pottie?

You can go on and get your flue shots and stock up on handy wipes but germs and bacteria are everywhere, you can't escape. How about those dust mites? Can you feel the little bugs crawling on you?

There are certain things that require a little washing up like butchering up raw meat or changing baby diapers.

My name is Joe and I like to play in the dirt. I am not afraid of the dirt and I haven't been sick since I was 11 years old unless you count alcohol induced sickness as required for proper bachelor parties and such events.

I'm no where near being a bean counter, I'm closer to a bean planter actually I work in a clay/ceramic factory as an electrician but it sounded good. while a wash my hands regularly after giong too but usually I have to wash up BEFORE going as I usually have a pretty good coating of guch all over me prior to having to go & notwanting to spread that onto my un-mensionables anyhow one thing that gets me is going to public places. sure work is public but also HEAVYLY dirty. but going to wally world or worse the doc office where you KNOW sick people are everywhere then the woman wants to go eat :sic: I always want to get a full on body dip into some sort of anti-fungial/bacterial/germacidial dunk tank then eat h ah ah

Never heard of the elbow thing but then the shaking of the arm dates back a while, where hand clasps up closer to the elbow rather than hand to hand...

ps. germs are everywhere, but it has been a long time since I have been sick. usually I get it from the woman who got it from kids or shopping ect... btw anyone ever see the movie naked gun where lesly neilson gets into this giant condom??? now thats funny.

Don't know about you guys, but when I'm getting ready to shake man's hand, I don't think and don’t care what he was holding or doing with it 10 minutes prior to seeing me, neithed does he have idea when my hand been. I do believe in firm handshake, as I believe in washing my hands after leaving restroom and before meal. I think people today just worry too much about an imaginary disease or otherwise. Live your life.... shake man's hand, if something happen then, deal with it.

Iam a man who gives a firm handshake as well.However my wife is a refuser.We went to a company picnic for the first time years ago.The personal director who hired me came up and introduced himself to her and stuck out his hand.She wouldnt shake it.I was so embarrassed.It was the last company outing i ever went to.Ithought it was just her independant ways,but i guess alot of people wont shake hands.I always thought it was just that women are funny ...not funny ha ha,but funny funny.except for those on TBN [COVERING MY BUTT HERE] JUST A LITTLE HUMOR HERE

Alan, I haven't read up on proper etiquette in a long time but when I was a youngster we were taught that a man never offers to shake hands with a woman; to only respond by taking her hand if she offers it.

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger" Your immune system functions in reaction to what it is exposed to. IF it is not exposed, it can't build up any immunities. They say that is what flue shots are supposed to do, but I dont necessarilly believe that. I don't exactly see how a generic flu antibody can protect you from the particular flu strain that may be going around considering how many variations of the flu are out there. And as mentioned, that faucet you turned on and off and the door handle are carriers so even if you wash your hands... You might note that most public facilities are starting to put waste baskets outside the restroom so you have someplace to place the paper towel that you used to open the door to exit the washroom. I have actually seen instructions to this effect saying to use the papertowel to shut off the faucet after drying your hands.

Oh and as to customs, I have heard that in some countries, left handed waves or touching are considered rude or an insult as that is the hand that you are supposed to have wiped with.

INTERESTING.I didnt know this.probably because I was brought up in the sticks ha ha
The wife is the manager in the competitions head quarters.I made this clear when they wanted to hire me,that this wouldnt be an issue.They said it wouldnt ,be a problem.They all knew she was the top cat for the competitor,but being my wife,they wanted to meet her. So here we are socializing with the big wigs ,When she wouldnt shake hands i could have crawled under a rock.Im not embarrassed of my wife,and that she manages the competetors company,but because of this handshake phobia,i never again attended another company function.I wasnt aware of this man woman etiquette thing ,but when a hand is offered to you,i believe it to be an insult not to shake it,just my opinion.
