You make it sound like legal filed with an acronym guarantees accuracy and is just plain inarguable fact. I don't think so. Does JD do any business in Mexico? They don't know the difference between Canada and the US so they probably don't realize that Mexico is in North America either. Or could it be they might be trying to make their numbers look more 'American'.

This whole thing about Deere has got to the point of being silly. Mike posted facts. Now some want to twist these facts to their own way of thinking.

I wonder... If... Were we to... But, what is... You make it sound... I believe...

Excuse me I just want to ask a simple question and then everyone so inclined can return to their sand bag piles and resume the mortar attacks.

Did no one note post # 67 in this thread?

Can we not accept anything direct from a properly positioned person in the JD organization? Are we worried that he is part of some corporate conspiracy or what????

Even with NAFTA and clever wording on the part of anyone, don't we agree that IOWA is still in the US of A?

OK, resume fire in 10 seconds....

Yes, I noticed it, both here and in the other thread.

Just curious, with NAFTA, is the former labeling requirement (in automobiles, for example) of US content now morph to North American content?

Very good question! That would be another way to "pencil whip" the numbers to artificially look better.

Sort of like Dodge and their Cruiser (Neon with a makeover.) Dodge lists the Cruiser officially as a TRUCK! With the hatchback and removable rear seat it can qualify. Why do that? Because the Cruiser gets such poor gas mileage it would drag down their average for automobiles so they call it a truck. For a truck it gets pretty good mileage and helps their truck fleet average.

It isn't always what you do that gets credited it is what you call what you do, spin spin spin...

These companies do not define the reporting rules, they simply play the game.

Who backs your savings account?
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The FDIC which is an insurance company that only has enough assets to pay 2 or 3 percent of the total savings holdings.

I may be wrong here, but aren't most home mortgages backed by the government? Fannie Mae, Sally Mae? Who backs your savings account? What's the cost of millions of unemployed people at a time when home mortgage rates were 18%?

Now if you were to propose legislation that any senator or representitive that adds an "ear mark" is horse whipped (every $10 ear mark is one whack) -- Then I'm with ya!

I'd move to a different country if any were better, they ain't. Vote out the bums! Red, blue all colors.

I sure understand what is being said but isn't there some contradiction between the statement of you'd leave if there were a better place to go (but you think there isn't one) and your claim that our elected officials are bums.

Is this "all elected officials are bums" a recent development? I have heard the same comments since I was old enough to recall or read a history book.

It just seems contradictory that for a couple hundred years we have been governed by bums and yet somehow we are the BEST country in the world. How does that work?

If we are the best country in the world, I'd be careful about making big or radical changes since you don't know what might happen.

Vote the bums out sounds cool but who voted the bums in? Why are the same bums voted in over and over not to mention any alcoholic Kennedy by name.

Maybe what you really need to do is tell us your favored alternative to a representative democracy that would make our country even better.
