I M PEA ODE!!! Advertising on MY FENCE

I have been known to pull stunts like that on neighbors I don't like did your neighbor give them permission by chance?

Funny! :laughing: But not likely ... This is a totally vacant 21-acre parcel. All we've done is replace the road-side fence, which is really not close to any of the few neighbors. And, we didn't start work until about 11am, so nobody's sleep-ins should've been bothered, even if they could hear us. And ... we even used cordless tools ... nice & quiet! (No power out there yet)

I would think, if anything, people would be happy to see a nice fence go up in place of the old, dilapidated one.

The problem with doing something drastic is that you don't know who put up the sign. Could it be that they hired some day laborers with instructions to put up signs, and those instructions were not followed? Is it possible that they would be just as upset that the people they paid are doing this? Sure, the company is ultimately responsible, but you should first approach this in a manner that is appropriate. Call them and ask to speak to the owner/manager. Explain what has happened and tell them you want the sign removed immediately and to be compensated for the repair of your fence. How they respond would determine my next move, but I would give them a chance before doing anything else.

You know, at this point, we don't even know whether that company put their sign there. Too many possibilities. Maybe they hired some advertising company to post signs and didn't know one of their signs was posted on someone's fence. Or maybe kids stole the sign from somewhere else and put it on your fence as a joke. I'd have removed the sign if it were on my fence, but before I did anything else, I'd have called the company in question. They just might not be aware of where the sign was and they may apologize, or of course they might not.

I would never do anything drastic at all; I really dislike any kind of confrontation. I'd certainly never use a weapon!! I'm much more like Andy Griffith than Dirty Harry!!

Now I would like this to stop & not happen agian ... & not just on my fence. Why should anybody have to put up with this??

I'd like them to know somebody out there is PEA ODE about it, but they're not sure who, so they just stop the campaign altogether.

Or...maybe just give them a good talking to over the phone that's what the mods want to hear. By any means don't take my advice and get the police or talk to them in person that's too harsh. :laughing:
