Actually, that is a chrome lined barrel if you scroll down.

But maybe I missed somewhere earlier you said it was a kit? So yea, $530 buys you alot more than buying a complete gun somewhere. The $600 price range guns like the delton sport, rugar AR556, a few of the DPMS's, M&P sport, etc and you arent getting a chrome lined or nitrided barrel.

We were comparing two different things.

This is a kit,, but you can buy this from them (like I did) already put together for the same $$$..Don't ask me why they sell it for the same $$ already put together, but they do..they don't always have them already together..If you look at their site, they are out of stock on a lot of their stuff..they said they sell this stuff as fast as they can get it in... When I bought mine, it was the last 1 they had.. they sell pretty quick

Here's a complete rifle with ss barrel PSA 16" Stainless Mid-length 1/7 Freedom Carbine - 46637

Sorry, I just dug up my receipt ...I paid $549.00 including shipping Not the $530.00 as I 1st stated..

Or if you prefer a nice lady to do the shooting, watch this one.

Go with the no frills and have fun... My M&P sport has hundreds of cheap ammo run with zero failures.

U can upgrade anything if u feel the need so don't get paralyzed in your buying decision.. That's another thing that makes these rifles so much fun.

I would prefer the DI but am about to do an Adams arms piston conversion because I'm running a suppressor.

I need advice on an AR-15. I want a reliable, no frills, iron sight AR-15. Nothing fancy and no expensive addons.

Any brands, suggestions?

Have you decided which or what and if so what was it?

Mine has some of these features chrome moly barrel, gas piston, foward assist, dust cover, and it was $530.00 shipped to ffl $10.00 transfer fee...
I shoot it with a bump fire stock, .. I can shoot 5- 40 round mags.. 1 right after the other ,and it doesn't miss a beat

I've got to ask, who makes a piston operated AR platform for under $600?

The colt LE 6920 is as close to the military M16 you'll get... The military doesn't use a piston operated rifle..I believe it runs around $1200.00

No offense, but just becuase something is "mil spec", it doesn't mean squat.

I thought my GI Colt was crap in the early 80's, and last year after talking with guys out of Fayetteville recently, aparently the opinion is had even today.

My only point is for a AR style rifle to be good, it does not have to be anywhere close to a Colt.

Of course, opinions may differ:D
