Roy, I gotta ask .......... why would you carry an AR offshore.

We used to carry a shotgun and sidearms while fishing rivers in southern Venezuela in the 70's, 80's, and 90's for protection. Our firearms stayed in Venezuela, with friends, between trips. In fact their still there, haven't fished their since 2000. When Hugo Chavez took office in 1999, it became clear that fishing there was no longer to be. We had many friends in the La Guardia National that looked out for us when we were in Country. When Chavez took office, our friends no longer knew us.

Convenient documentation of phony gun losses so when the bad guys in black helicopters land on their driveway to confiscate all assault rifles and teaspoons they can claim all was lost or stolen. Let them live their paranoid fantasies. Makes them feel good.

Scalia read the 2nd Amendment as it was written:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The militia is to be disciplined (which is what "regulated" meant in this context). The most important phrase is in bolded text...meaning the militia is a subset of the people (all of us).

Ginsburg uses her political bias rather then what the amendment states, which is why she hates the correct interpretation (Scalia's).
Ginsburg proved her bias when she went off on Trump...totally inappropriate for a SCOTUS justice. So inappropriate the impeachment should be considered.

Seems to be somewhat of a common occurrence, I also lost all of my firearms while fishing.

They'd never done anything wrong or caused any harm, but with all this talk going on about all those terrible, mean weapons that kill people, I wanted to treat mine like I treat my grandsons, and try to show them the proper ways in life. So, I'd take them camping, fishing and use every opportunity to talk at length with them how much it means to conduct oneself properly, treat others with respect, etc. Besides, they'd spent most of their time with me locked in an old dark safe, and I thought they would enjoy getting out into the sunshine more.

Since that terrible boating accident, I'm kinda afraid of taking my grandsons fishing now, I'd hate to loose them more than I did my weapons! Guess I shoulda zip stripped flotation devices to them.

I have a DPMS Orical, love the gun and incredibly accurate! I just have a bushnel scope on it but you could set it up with a red dot or iron sights on the rails, you might need a quad rail on the front though, all depends on the options
